Bone meal fertilizer is an organic, slow-release source of phosphorus, calcium, and nitrogen from ground animal bones, excellent for promoting strong root growth, flowers, and fruits, applied by mixing into soil before planting or as a top dressing, especially for bulbs, roses, and root vegetables, but use moderately to avoid excess phosphorus, which can inhibit other nutrients and affect soil pH.

How to use it
- When to Apply: Best before planting (mixed into the hole) or as a spring/autumn top dressing for established plants, especially bulbs, roses, tomatoes, and root crops.
- Application Method: Fork into the soil or mix into the backfill when planting; don’t just leave it on the surface.
- Dosage: Use sparingly; a tablespoon around a plant or a cup in a planting hole is often enough, as too much can harm plants or make soil too alkaline.
- Best For: Root vegetables (carrots, potatoes), flowering plants (roses, hibiscus), fruits (tomatoes), bulbs, and trees.
